The Opportunity:
National Development is looking for a full-time Leasing and Engagement Manager for our residential portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for people, apartment living, and creating a sense of community among residents and team members. As a member of our team, you will instill a sense of National Development pride in everyone that they interact with. This position will require travel from site to site and could require one or multiple days at any of our communities in the greater Boston area.
As a Leasing and Engagement Manager, your primary responsibilities include:
- Assisting the portfolio with on-site coverage when needed and performing both leasing and management duties depending on the coverage required.
- Assisting the communities with planning and executing on-site events and also portfolio wide team building and philanthropic events.
Leasing/On-site Responsibilities would include:
- Corresponding with prospective residents – establishing a good rapport, setting up appointments, touring the community, and taking them through the leasing and move -in process, all while showcasing exemplary customer service and sales skills
- Administrative tasks such as lease generation, resident file preparation and maintenance, and resident correspondence
- Preparing weekly leasing reports
- Maintaining social media presence, working with the internal marketing team to create and post content
- Cultivating and maintaining strong, loyal relationships with residents, offering a first-class resident experience and helping to maintain a strong sense of community
Engagement Responsibilities would include:
- Collaborate with onsite PMs/team members to plan/execute property events including at a minimum one monthly resident event and 1 quarterly philanthropic event per site (expectations will vary by site and should be reviewed/agreed upon with SVP)
- Conduct routine calls/meetings throughout event planning and execution process to ensure the sites are prepared and residents are well informed
- Ensure that events are effectively marketed through social postings, onsite flyers, etc.
- Engage with onsite retailers if applicable to develop/manage collaborative events as well as perks programs
- Routinely review individual property performance based on weekly leasing reports to ensure that occupancy and traffic generation is meeting expectations. Identify assets that may benefit from additional marketing and operational efforts and make recommended changes as needed to SVP
- Review property websites monthly to ensure functionality
- Familiarize yourself with new acquisitions and developments in process and collaborate on marketing and lease-up plans and other operational decisions
- Assist as needed on portfolio projects

What You Bring to Us:
- Experience in property management, hospitality or retail industries
- Experience with industry software (YARDI)
- Familiarity with social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
- Experience planning social and philanthropic events
- Willingness to jump in, learning new tasks and systems
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
