Maintenance Lead

About this Position
We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Lead to oversee daily maintenance operations at residential communities. Reporting to the Community Manager, you will ensure the living environment is safe, secure, and comfortable for residents, visitors, and staff. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading teams, managing projects, and rolling up their sleeves.

Job Responsibilities
• Supervise daily maintenance operations and lead a team of technicians
• Train, coach, and schedule maintenance staff; assist with performance reviews
• Manage unit inspections, move-ins/outs, and ensure units are ready for occupancy
• Oversee and perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, appliance, and custodial work
• Schedule and monitor work orders, vendors, and preventive maintenance tasks

Job Skills/Requirements
• 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
• 3 years of supervisory experience with team oversight and apartment turnovers
• Strong communication and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Familiar with affordable housing inspections (REAC/TCAC/MOR) and Fair Housing compliance
• Valid CA Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance

Additional Information
• On-call availability required on a rotation basis (nights/weekends/holidays)
• Physical role: frequent standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and use of ladders
• Must be able to navigate confined spaces and perform physical tasks safely
• Full-time, contract position with opportunities for professional growth

Pay Range
Pay Range: $32–$38/hr
