To work with the Head of Maintenance to correlate the department resources to achieve given job duties and goals. Supervises day-to-day activities of team members and department operations. Collaborates and coordinates with other department supervisors. Provides leadership that creates departmental cohesiveness and holds team members accountable. Responds to inquiries from internal and external customers, vendors, and employees and resolves departmental problem/issues. Acts as a positive role model by mentoring team members and supporting company and departmental decisions.
Main tasks & responsibilities
- Delegates and supervises work of maintenance personnel in all job responsibilities and in all aspects of manufacturing maintenance operations.
- Assists in the training of the Maintenance personnel
- Provide technical support to mechanics when troubleshooting and repairing equipment as needed.
- Assists in the establishment and management of a Preventive Maintenance program.
- Responsible for performance evaluations and counseling as required and motivates manufacturing maintenance mechanics to perform at highest potential.
- Ensure shift quality and efficiency, leading to the effectiveness of the department’s quality effort.
- Ensures proper documentation and application of departmental processes and procedures.
- Participates in department annual budgeting and strategic planning.
- Represents manufacturing maintenance personnel in Company meetings and projects.
- Initiates and completes projects needed for continuous departmental improvements and meeting departmental goals.
Qualifications
- 5 years manufacturing maintenance experience
- 3 years leadership experience
- Demonstrated understanding of production equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable tools, including electrical test equipment.
- Must have good computer skills
- Must be able to read and sketch mechanical drawings.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Initiative/motivation a must.
- Good troubleshooting, root cause and critical thinking skills required.
MUST HAVES
-5 years experience in manufacturing maintenance role
-3 years experience in a lead role, supervisory title preferred.
-CMMS & MES system experience
- Must be able to read and sketch mechanical drawings.
- Cannot consider someone from a facility maintenance role. So people who work in commercial real estate or apartment buildings performing maintenance will not work for this role.
