Who You Are:

You are someone with an avid interest in retail who is polished, outgoing, and has a strong attention to detail. The Specialty Leasing Representative is charged with the short-term leasing of in-line retail space at National Harbor, a premier mixed-use destination and will office on-site. This person is an integral part of the Retail leasing team and National Harbor Operations. This is a customer-facing position that requires developing and maintaining relationships with retailers and the broker community and being efficient in canvassing for new tenants, negotiating License Agreement terms and economics that ultimately result in new boutique retail that will enhance the customer experience. This person works collaboratively within the Retail Leasing team and with members of the Asset Management, Legal, and Tenant Coordination groups. 

What You Bring:

• High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.

• Degree in business or related field preferred.
• Two (2) or more years of specialty leasing experience preferred.  Three (3) or more years of related sales experience or retail experience will be considered.
• Proficient with Microsoft Software
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Selling and negotiation skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy when interacting with others
• Must be nimble and able to move between tasks quickly

Key Responsibilities

Specialty Leasing

• Actively source unique local retailers in the DMV area through in-person visits, festivals, and markets.
• Ensure retailers enhance the property's appearance and align with merchandising standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams to assess space availability, tenant mix goals, and incubation opportunities.
• Oversee retailer compliance with operational and design standards.
• Prepare and route license agreements via Datex, in coordination with Legal, the GM, and licensees.
• Handle all national specialty leasing deals in partnership with the SVP of Leasing.
• Recommend action plans to help retailers maximize sales and support property value.
• Complete all required specialty leasing reports on time.

Information Processing

• Monitor and adjust budgets to align with year-end projections.
• Process agreements per data management procedures.
• Collect and report monthly sales; ensure accurate billing of rent and percentages.
• Enforce rent collection according to A/R policies.

Marketing

• Collaborate with marketing to feature specialty leasing in signage and digital platforms.
• Represent the property in community events and activities.

Operations

• Confirm licensees provide required insurance.
• Manage permitting and construction with internal stakeholders and expedite as needed.
• Coordinate setup, moves, and breakdowns of retail activations.
• Uphold high visual merchandising standards; assist tenants as needed.
• Ensure adherence to Company Core Practices.
• Fulfill Manager on Duty responsibilities as scheduled.
